The 4 Character Types (excerpted from Unraveling Human Nature, 2011)
This, the 1st sublayer of layer 7, determines our sense of whose needs we are currently sensing, our own or someone else's.
Character Type: Who Has Needs?
As I’ve mentioned, Layer 7 has four sublayers—each a part of our strategy for getting our pure needs met. The four sublayers are—the Character Type sublayer—the Social Priorities sublayer—the Decision Tree sublayer—and the Gender Orientation sublayer. Here our character type dictates whose needs we are focused on—our social priorities, the style in which we would like these needs to be met—our decision tree, the path by which we will decide how to respond to these urges—and our gender orientation, the degree of force, or lack thereof, with which this response is to be delivered.
